This torn sandwich salad is an easy way to enjoy a sandwich minus the mess. Simply tear up the pretzel roll, black forest ham and Swiss cheese and place it on a baking tray. Heat it in the oven until warmed through. Once the cheese is melted, place everything on a plate and add the sliced tomato, shredded lettuce and homemade honey mustard dressing. That’s it! Trust me, it’s irresistible.

Recipe Ingredients
Torn Sandwich Salad
- Pretzel Roll – You’ll need one pretzel roll or bun for this recipe. I used King’s Hawaiian brand.
- Black Forest Ham – This recipe calls for 3 slices of black forest ham.
- Swiss Cheese – You’ll need one slice of Swiss cheese for this recipe. Option to use baby Swiss instead.
- Tomato – You’ll need a few slices of fresh tomato for this recipe.
- Shredded Lettuce – You’ll need some shredded lettuce for this recipe.
Honey Mustard Dressing
- Mayonnaise – You’ll need mayonnaise for this recipe.
- Apple Cider Vinegar – Apple cider vinegar adds a zippy flavor to the dressing.
- Honey – For a touch of sweetness honey works best.
- Dijon Mustard – The Dijon mustard has a peppery flavor that goes so well in this recipe.
- Kosher Salt – Season the dressing with a pinch of kosher salt to taste.
Variations
- Swap the bun. I highly suggest using the pretzel roll but you can use a regular roll instead.
- Use a different lettuce. Instead of shredded romaine, you can use shredded iceberg lettuce instead.
- Adjust the dressing. For a zippier dressing add more vinegar. For a sweeter dressing add more honey.

This looks amazing, I think I’ll try it without the bun since gluten-free bread is awful!! Just a little heads-up, I think there is a typo on the nutrition facts – carbohydrates. The pretzel rolls that you linked have 34 g of carbs for 1 roll. ♥️🙌🏼
I use a nutrition software that has the nutrition values built in. So I can’t enter exact brands. This information is based off of their calculation. Hope you enjoy!
