Ingredients Needed for Cheesy Bread Breakfast Sandwich
Bread – For this recipe, you can use whatever bread you have handy. I like using the King’s Hawaiian Rolls because they are slightly sweet, which tastes good with the salty, crispy cheese. However, you could use mini bagels, sliced bread or whatever you have handy.
Butter – You’ll need salted butter for this recipe.
Cheese – For this recipe, I used shredded mozzarella cheese. You could also use shredded cheddar or whatever you enjoy most. Just be sure it is a cheese that melts easily.
Egg- You’ll need one scrambled egg per sandwich.
Chives – I added chopped chives which really brightened the sandwich up. However, you can use microgreens, lettuce, spinach or whatever you enjoy most. Sliced avocado would also taste amazing.
How to Make Cheesy Bread Breakfast Sandwich
Heat a small non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Butter the inside of the roll with a thin layer of butter.
Place both sides of the roll in the hot pan buttered side down. Fry until golden brown and remove from the pan.
Next, in the same pan, add 1-2 tablespoons of shredded cheese.
As it begins to melt, place the roll (toasted side down) on the hot cheese. Gently press the roll into the cheese so it adheres.
Once the cheese is crispy, remove the roll from the pan.
In the same pan, add one scrambled egg. Cook the egg to your liking and place it on the sandwich.
Top with freshly chopped chives and enjoy.
Storage
Best enjoyed immediately. This recipe makes one sandwich, but you can make as many sandwiches as you like.
