Frequently Asked Questions FAQ’s

What is the best Greek yogurt to use? I like using 2% Greek yogurt for this recipe. Fage brand works very well. And the 2% fat is perfectly creamy.

What is the best feta cheese to use? Be sure to use a high-quality feta cheese for this recipe. Block feta by Dodoni brand works nicely. This brand of feta is stored in a brine which adds a lot of flavor to the cheese. Drain the feta well, otherwise the dip could become runny.

Why do you add water to the recipe? The water helps thin out the creamy Greek yogurt and the feta cheese. Keep in mind, that if you use a low-fat Greek yogurt, you may not need water. If you use a full fat Greek yogurt you may need more water. You can adjust based on how thick you like the dip.

Why do you add the tomato salad on the side? When adding the tomato salad to the dip, add it to the side. Also try to strain off the marinade / dressing before spooning the salad onto the dip. The tomatoes and the dressing have acid in them which can break down the dip. So, adding it to the side will help prevent the acid from breaking down the dip, allowing your dip to last longer. This handy slotted soon works well.

How do you serve Creamy Whipped Feta Dip? Serve the dip chilled in a serving bowl. Add the strained tomato salad on the side. Enjoy with warm pita or naan bread. Option to use toasted baguettes or crackers as well.
