Frozen Mango Margarita – Healthyish Foods

Ingredients Needed for Frozen Mango Margarita

Mango – Carefully remove the peel and the pit from the mango. Cube the mango into small pieces. Add the cubed mango to a sealable bag and place it in the freezer overnight. You will want the mango to be fully frozen for the best results.

Tequila – I like using a Blanco tequila. Patron or Casamigos are two great options.

Lime Juice – Be sure to use fresh squeezed lime juice. It really takes this recipe to the next level. Hereis a link to a handheld citrus juicer.

Orange Juice – You will also need the juice from one ripe orange. The hint of orange tastes great in this recipe. Plus, it is a great substitute for triple sec which can be high in sugar. Here is a link to a citrus juicer perfect for oranges and larger citrus fruit.

Agave – for this recipe, I used Organic Agave in The Raw. Be sure to use this on the rim of your glass and in the margarita. 

Ice – When adding the ice, you will want to add a handful of cubes. I added about 10-12 cubes.

Tajin – Add Tajin to a small plate so you can rim the glass.

How to Make Frozen Mango Margarita

Prepare the Glass

Add Organic Agave In The Raw to a small plate. Add tajin to the second small plate. Grab a glass and turn it upside down. Run the rim of the glass through the agave making sure it is well coated. Next, you’ll run the agave coated rim through the tajin. Making sure it is well coated. Turn the glass right side up and it is ready for the mango margarita.

Blend the Margarita

Add the tequila, fresh squeezed lime juice, fresh squeezed orange juice, agave, ice, and frozen cubed mango to a high-powered blender. Buzz in the blender until creamy and smooth. Pour into the prepared glass and enjoy! Option to garnish with a slice of jalapeno and a slice of mango that has been dipped in the tajin. Best enjoyed immediately.

FAQ’s Frequently Asked Questions

What alcohol is best for this margarita recipe? The type of alcohol you use for a margarita is entirely subject to your personal preferences. As noted, I prefer Patron or Casamigos. Both are two excellent options. However, any Blanco tequila will work well. Blanco tequila gives this drink a little bit of a smoother profile going down.

Do I need to use a blender? Yes, a high powered blender works best for this recipe! I love my Vitamix. It makes the margaritas smooth and creamy every time!

What is Tajin? Tajin is a Mexican spice blend made from dried chilies, salt and lime. It is commonly used to season fruit, rim margaritas or in marinades. It has a sweet and sour flavor that most people enjoy.

  • 4-5 cups frozen mango
  • ½ cup tequila, blanco
  • ½ cup lime juice, fresh squeezed
  • ¼ cup orange juice, fresh squeezed

  • 12-14 ice cubes
