Everything But the Bagel Tofu Chips (2 Ingredients)
These Tofu Chips are light, crispy, and easy to make with just two simple ingredients! Baked until crisp, they’re a delicious, high-protein, low-carb substitute for classic crackers or chips and are perfect for dipping.
I love making homemade snacks like Cherry Chocolate Almond Granola Bars and Crispy Potato Skin Chips to enjoy throughout the week. Personally, I’m a big fan of dips, but sometimes carrots and celery just won’t cut it for dipping.
So, I created tofu chips for a nutritious option that satisfies all my cravings. Seriously, they’re the healthy dipping vessel you’ve been waiting for! You won’t believe how simple they are to make, and they’re so flavorful you may never go back to traditional snacking options again.
Not only are these chips perfectly crisp, but they’re also gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and vegan to suit a variety of dietary needs. Sturdy enough for scooping, they’re dangerously addictive and pair well with virtually everything!
Recipe Ingredients
- Tofu – Use super firm tofu for the best results.
- Seasoning – Use a pre-made or homemade everything but the bagel seasoning blend.
Flavor Variations
Feel free to mix and match any seasonings you like best! Some of my favorite variations include:
- Salt, pepper, and rosemary
- BBQ seasoning
- Ranch seasoning
- Taco seasoning
How to Make Tofu Chips
- Prepare. Before you begin, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, gently grease a baking tray with cooking spray, and set it aside.
- Press the tofu. Use a clean kitchen cloth to press the tofu and remove any excess water. Be sure to remove as much moisture as possible! This is the key to creating crispy chips.
- Slice. Use a sharp knife to slice the tofu into thin even slices.
- Season. Sprinkle the seasoning evenly on the chips, adding as much or as little as you like.
- Bake. Arrange the tofu slices in a single layer on the prepared baking tray. Then, transfer them to the oven, and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the chips are lightly browned.
- Cool. Allow the tofu to cool on the baking pan, and enjoy!
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do tofu chips last? This recipe is best served right away as the chips will soften as they sit at room temperature. However, if you do need to store them, transfer them to a sealable bag with a piece of paper towel to absorb any excess moisture. Store leftovers at room temperature for 1-2 days.
How should I serve tofu crackers? Use this recipe any way you use crackers or chips. I love to pair them with dips and salads like curry chickpea salad or buffalo ranch cottage cheese dip. They’re a great addition to a snack board. Or, turn them into a filling appetizer by topping them with a slice of brie cheese and a drizzle of honey. The options are truly endless!
Are tofu chips healthy? This recipe is low-carb, low-fat, nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and high-protein. As a result, it’s a healthy option in my book! Of course, please consult your doctor with any specific questions or concerns.
Everything But the Bagel Tofu Chips (2 Ingredients)
Equipment
- 1 baking tray
Ingredients
- 1 package super firm tofu, press out moisture
- 2-3 tablespoons everything but the bagel seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Gently spray a baking tray with non-stick cooking spray. Set it aside.
Prepare the Tofu
- Press the tofu using a clean kitchen cloth to remove excess water from the tofu. Removing the excess water will help the tofu to bake faster and get more crispy. Be sure to get out as much moisture as possible. Slice your tofu into thin, even slices. You do not want them to be so thin that they fall apart when you pick them up. I got 21 slices out of my tofu package.
Season the Tofu
- Season with the everything seasoning blend.
Bake
- Place your tofu slices on the cooking tray no overlapping. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until your crackers are lightly browned. Baking time may vary depending on the thickness of the tofu and how much moisture you were able to press out. Best enjoyed same day!
