When I saw the bacon twist trend on TikTok, I knew I had to give it a Healthyish twist. So, I added grated parmesan cheese and cracked black pepper for the ultimate dipping vessel.

What’s great is that you can make these parmesan black pepper bacon twists as crispy or as chewy as you like. Dan likes a slightly chewy center with crispy edges, so that’s what I focused on. That said, feel free to bake your twists as you like. Just be sure to turn them frequently to prevent sticking and burning on any one side.

Made from 3 simple ingredients this recipe is easy to make too. Simply coat each slice of bacon with the parmesan cheese and twist it up. Top the twists with a few turns of fresh cracked black pepper before placing them in the oven.

Parmesan Black Pepper Bacon Twists

  • 1 lb. center cut bacon – I used Oscar Meyer original
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • cracked black pepper


  • baking tray
  • mixing bowl


  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Grab a baking tray. Set it aside.
  • Add 1 cup of grated parmesan to a bowl.
  • Take one piece of bacon at a time and run it through the cheese. Make sure it is well coated on both sides.
  • Twist the parmesan bacon as tightly as possible and line it on the baking tray.
  • Repeat for all the bacon slices.
  • Hit the bacon with a few turns of fresh cracked black pepper before baking in the oven.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes on one side.
  • Turn every 4 minutes after that until cooked to your liking.
  • My twists took about 20 minutes to bake.
  • Place the cooked twists on a paper towel to absorb and excess grease.
  • Sprinkle with a little more parmesan and black pepper.
  • Serve once cool.
