Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Customizable. What’s great about these parmesan black pepper bacon twists is that you can make them as crispy or as chewy as you like. Dan prefers a slightly chewy center with crispy edges, which is what’s pictured here. That said, feel free to bake your twists as you like. Just be sure to turn them frequently to prevent sticking and burning on any one side.
- Simple ingredients. These bacon twists are made from three simple ingredients. You most likely already have these ingredients on-hand. Simply coat each slice of bacon with the parmesan cheese and twist it up. You will want to twist it as tightly as you can. Top the twists with a few turns of fresh cracked black pepper before placing them in the oven. Once baked to your liking, top the twists with some extra parmesan and cracked black pepper.
- Versatile. Enjoy these bacon twists in salads, on sandwiches or as the perfect vessel for dipping. Try dipping them in my Jalapeno Artichoke Cheese Dip or my Chicken Spinach Artichoke Dip. This bacon recipe is keto friendly and dangerously addictive.
Recipe Ingredients
- Bacon – You’ll need sliced bacon for this recipe. Thinner bacon is easier to twist than thicker slabs.
- Parmesan Cheese – This recipe calls for grated parmesan cheese.

How to Make Bacon Twists
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Grab a baking tray and line it with parchment paper and set it aside.
- Add grated parmesan cheese to a bowl. Take one piece of bacon at a time and run it through the cheese. Make sure it is well coated on both sides. Twist the parmesan bacon as tightly as possible and line it on the baking tray. Repeat for all the bacon slices.
- Once all of the bacon is coated with cheese, hit it with a few turns of fresh cracked black pepper. Bake for 18-20 minutes turning halfway. Cooking time will vary based on the thickness of the bacon.
- Place the cooked twists on a paper towel to absorb and excess grease. Sprinkle with a little more parmesan and black pepper. Enjoy.
Storage
- Store any leftover bacon twists in an airtight container in the refrigerator for five to six days.
