Recipe Ingredients
- Prosciutto – You’ll need 14 slices of prosciutto. Roughly 6-ounces total.
- Boursin Cheese – You’ll need 2-3 ounces of Boursin cheese. I like the chive and shallot flavor.
- Honey – This recipe calls for honey. Drizzle a small amount of honey over the crispy prosciutto.
- Toasted Walnuts – This recipe calls for toasted and chopped walnuts.
Expert Tips
- Make sure the sliced prosciutto is cold. It is easier to work with.
- When adding the Boursin cheese, add it to the far end of the prosciutto then roll it up. This helps keep the cheese locked inside.
- When pan searing, lightly spray your nonstick skillet with avocado oil spray. This will help the prosciutto get a crispy sear.
Variations
Swap the cheese. Instead of Boursin cheese you can use regular goat cheese or herbed goat cheese instead.
Swap the nuts. If you’re not a fan of walnuts, you can try toasted pecans or pine nuts instead.
Add a cracker. If you want, you can place the roll-up on a cracker for easy lifting, but it’s not necessary.

Could we use a balsamic glaze in stead of the honey? How would that pair up?
It would probably be fine! I haven’t tested it… but sounds like it would work!
Looks delicious! Reckon you can prep these a day or two in advance and sear on the day? I have a Christmas brunch this weekend and I’d love to get the fiddly stuff done earlier.
Yep! That will work! You can enjoy them without searing too if you prefer!
Looks delicious. What do you consider a small anoint of cheese? Thank you
2-3 teaspoons.
Want to make and take to a party. What can I do to heat them up before serving? Oven or microwave?
I would just pan sear them at the party so they are fresh! It only takes a few minutes. The microwave will make them rubbery.
Made this recipe for Thanksgiving and it was a HUGE hit. Easy to pre-prep them and fry them up as needed to keep them hot. Plan to make them again for Christmas. Thank you for your tasty easy recipes to enhance my holiday!
I am so glad you enjoyed! Thank you for the review!
Have you tried any other cheese with these? I was wondering whether a creamy goats cheese with dill would work…
Goat cheese will work!
Just made this as an app for a dinner party…huge hit! Thanks for the recipe!!
So glad you enjoyed!
Just made these as a snack and they were so delicious. The honey definitely balanced the salty prosciutto. I used garlic herb boursin because that’s what I had but it was so yummy
I am so glad you enjoyed!
Made these for girls night. I used pistachios instead of walnuts. So easy to prepare. They were a big hit! Everyone wanted the recipe. So yummy with a glass of wine. This will be my go to app from now on.
So glad you enjoyed, Kristina! Thank you for the review!
Can you bake instead of pan fry. If so what temperature and how long ?
So they probably will not get very crispy in the oven. I would recommend pan searing them for the best results.
Can this be completely assembled ahead of time then pan seared just before serving? Thanks!
Exactly!!
Could you bake it instead of pan fry. If so what temperature and how ling?
I would pan sear them instead. Baking in the oven will not achieve a crispy sear.
