Ingredients Needed for Big Mac Style Chicken Burger Bowl
Ground Chicken Burgers – For this recipe, you’ll need about one pound of Smart Chicken’s ground chicken. I like using Smart Chicken brand because you can taste the quality difference in the meat. You’ll combine the ground chicken with panko breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, olive oil, onion powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried parsley, salt, cracked black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix and form the patties. I was able to get about 5 patties.
Avocado Oil – For this recipe, you’ll cook the chicken burgers in a non-stick skillet with about one tablespoon of avocado oil over medium heat. Avocado oil has a high smoke point and is perfect for pan frying the burgers.
Water – Once the burgers cook for 5-6 minutes on the first side, carefully flip the burgers and reduce the heat to LOW. Add about 2-3 tablespoons of water to the skillet and once it settles down, return the heat to medium. Cover the burgers with a lid. This helps lock in the juices and allows the burgers to cook more evenly without burning. Cook for another 5-6 minutes on the second side or until the burgers are 165 degrees Fahrenheit in the center. Cooking time will vary based on the thickness of your burgers.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Be careful as the oil and water will sizzle. Reduce the heat to low while you are adding the water to the pan. This will help prevent any flames. Return the heat to medium once the water is in the pan and cover with a lid.
Special Sauce – For this recipe, you’ll need to combine mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, sweet relish, cane sugar, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and cracked black pepper. Mix well.
Toppings – You can use whatever toppings you enjoy most. I used sliced cheese, shredded lettuce, diced onion, and sliced tomatoes.

I will admit that I love a Big Mac every once in a while. This recipe feels close too it but is a much healthier and tastier and more filling option. No more hitting the drive thru and then feeling guilty after!
Love, love, love this recipe! So delicious and easy! I had to use ground turkey last time because ground chicken was always out at my stores. It was just as tasty.
The burgers were delicious and juicy. I swapped spinach in for shredded lettuce and also added some avocado on the side. So good!
