Chicken – You’ll need one pound of Smart Chicken’s chicken breasts for this recipe. Option to butterfly the chicken into four thin cutlets for easy quick cooking. Season the chicken with salt and black pepper before adding it to the hot pan with oil.

Marinara Sauce – You’ll need one cup of marinara sauce. Your favorite store-bought sauce will work perfectly.

Mozzarella Cheese – You’ll need 4-5 slices of fresh mozzarella cheese for this recipe. You can also use shredded mozzarella cheese instead.

Toppings – I added pepperoni, but you can add whatever toppings you enjoy most to this recipe. Black olives, onions, peppers or mushrooms would all taste great.

How to Make One Pan Pizza Chicken

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Butterfly your chicken breasts and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Heat a 10-inch cast iron pan over medium high heat. Add olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned chicken. Sear for 4-5 minutes per side. Cooking time will vary based on the thickness of your chicken.

Add the marinara, sliced mozzarella and pepperoni. Place the dish in the oven for 15-20 minutes to finish cooking. You’ll want the cheese to be hot and bubbly and the pepperoni to be crispy on the edges. Option to broil for 1-2 minutes. Make sure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure doneness.

Top with red pepper flakes, grated parmesan cheese and chopped Italian parsley. Serve hot and enjoy.
