Cheddar Apple Bacon Salad with Creamy Honey Dijon
This Cheddar Apple Bacon Salad with Creamy Honey Dijon Dressing is dangerously addictive. Even Dan, my husband, who does not love salads can’t get enough!
Loaded with diced green apple, crispy bacon, crumbled cheddar cheese, chopped pecans and finely diced red onion, this salad is guaranteed to be a family favorite.
For this cheddar apple bacon salad recipe, you can use whatever greens you enjoy most. However, spinach, iceberg or even kale would all work well. If you opt for kale, be sure to massage it to help break it down a touch. I used, a combination of spinach and baby lettuce.

Ingredients Needed for Cheddar Apple Bacon Salad
Creamy Honey Dijon Yogurt Dressing – Combine 0% Greek yogurt, honey, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, kosher salt and warm water in a bowl. Whisk well. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Lettuce – For this cheddar apple bacon salad recipe, you can use whatever greens you enjoy most. However, spinach, iceberg or even kale would all work well. If you opt for kale, be sure to massage it to help break it down a touch. I used, a combination of spinach and baby lettuce. Whatever you decide, make sure the lettuce is washed and dried.
Apples – If you like a touch of tartness, use a green or granny smith apple for this recipe. Alternatively, you can use a honey crispy apple which is a touch sweeter. Whatever you use, just be sure to dice it into small, easy to eat pieces. Option to toss the apple in fresh squeezed lemon juice to prevent browning.
Bacon – Fry three to four pieces of bacon and crumble it. Set aside.
Cheddar Cheese – Crumble two to three ounces of cheddar cheese using your hands. Or you can give it a quick pulse in the food processor if that’s easier. You just want it to be small and easy to eat.
Red Onion – Finely dice a red onion for this recipe. It adds extra flavor to the salad.
Pecans – Option to crush the pecans or leave them whole. I prefer everything in my salads to be about the same size, so I get a little bit of everything in each bite.
Seasoning – Season the salad with a touch of kosher salt and cracked black pepper.

This salad was delicious!!! The dressing is absolutely to-die-for! I did add chicken breast cut into cubes for more added protein. Such a great salad!
Yay! A couple minor adaptations – dairy-free cheddar shreds and coconut or almond yogurt thanks to a nasty cow milk allergy – and I can see this in regular rotation! So glad I found this site!
