Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 cup AP flour, all purpose flour - I did NOT test GF flour or any other flour
  • 2 tablespoons cane sugar
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups powder sugar , sifted

Wet ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla flavor
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature

Equipment

  • 8x8 baking dish
  • handmixer
  • measuring cup

Instructions 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease an 8x8 glass or ceramic baking dish with baking spray. Glass preferred.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cane sugar, vanilla flavor and butter. Cream together.
  • Next, add one large egg. Mix well.
  • Then you'll add the milk and whisk well.
  • Next, add the dry ingredients. Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sifted powdered sugar. Whisk until well combined.
  • Pour the batter into your greased glass baking dish.
  • Bake for 35-37 minutes, until fully cooked through.
