Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons cane sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons vanilla flavor
  • 1 cup AP flour, all purpose flour - I did NOT test GF flour or any other flour
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups powder sugar , sifted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature

Equipment

  • 8x8 baking dish
  • mixing bowl
  • handmixer
  • measuring cup

Instructions 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease an 8x8 glass or ceramic baking dish with baking spray. Glass preferred.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the cane sugar and vanilla flavor. Stir well.
  • Next, add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sifted powdered sugar. Whisk until well combined.
  • Next, you’ll add the wet ingredients.
  • Add 1 large egg, milk and room temperature unsalted butter. Use a hand mixer to combine well.
  • Pour the batter into your greased glass baking dish.
  • Bake for 35-37 minutes, until fully cooked through.
