What’s better than a night at home watching movies and enjoying the best-ever easy grilled pizza? In my opinion, not much.

Ingredients

Grilled Pizza

Optional Toppings

Equipment

  • gas grill
  • glass or metal mixing bowl for the dough
  • saran wrap
  • small bowls to hold cheese, sauce and toppings
  • metal grill spatula
  • baking tray or pizza peeler
  • Pizza Cutter

Instructions

Prepare the dough:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast and 00 flour from the pizza kit. Add the water and knead the dough. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap making sure it is airtight.
  • Let the dough rest for a minimum of 45 minutes up to 2 hours at room temperature.

Prepare the sauce, cheese, and toppings:

  • Slice the mozzarella into long thin strips and place it in a bowl.
  • Add the pizza sauce to a bowl with a spoon for easy access.
  • Place any desired toppings in separate bowls so you can quickly and easily grab them.

Preheat the grill:

  • Preheat the gas grill to 550-600 degrees.
  • While the grill is heating, divide the dough in two evenly sized portions. Add a small amount of flour to your work surface and roll the dough into 10-inch rounds. See above for more details.

Grill the pizza:

  • Next, lightly dust your pizza peel or baking tray with flour.
Brush both sides of the dough with Delallo garlic parmesan dipping oil and add it to the prepared pizza peel or baking tray. Only grill one pizza at a time.
**Dusting the baking tray or pizza peel with flour helps the dough to easily slide onto the hot grill. You will want to move quickly during this step, so the oil doesn’t saturate the flour, otherwise it won’t slide.**
  • Once the dough is on the grill, close the lid and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Using a metal grill spatula, you will remove the pizza from the grill and place it on the peeler or baking tray. Flip it over so the grill marks are face up.
  • Begin quickly adding your sauce, cheese and toppings to the side of the crust with grill marks. Once it is loaded with toppings, add the pizza back on the grill, raw dough side down.
  • Close the lid and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Once the cheese is melted and the pizza is cooked through, remove it from the grill. Slice and enjoy.
