Easy Guacamole

This easy guacamole recipe is made from a few simple ingredients and tastes amazing. What’s great is that this dish comes together in under 20 minutes too.

Ingredients

  • 3 large avocados, peel and pit
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced, about 2 cloves
  • ½ fresh jalapeno, minced, omit if you do not like spice
  • ½ cup onion, diced small
  • salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice, fresh squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped small, plus extra as garnish
  • ½ cup Roma tomatoes, diced about 2 tomatoes

Equipment

  • 1 mortar and pestle
  • 1 mixing bowl if you dont have a mortar and pestle

Instructions 

How to Make Guacamole with a Mortar and Pestle

  • Add the garlic cloves, diced onion, sliced jalapeno, salt and fresh squeezed lime juice into the mortar bowl. Use the pestle to smash it. Once paste like, add the avocado and smash it all together with the pestle.
  • Once well combined, use a spatula to gently fold in the diced Roma tomatoes and chopped cilantro.

How to Make Guacamole without a Mortar and Pestle

  • In a large mixing bowl, smash the avocado, salt and lime juice together. You can use a fork for spoon.
  • Once well combined, use a spatula to gently fold in the diced onion, finely diced jalapeno, minced garlic, diced Roma tomatoes and chopped cilantro. Mix until well combined.
