We all know we need to hydrate more. This Strawberry Detox Water is good for you, good for the planet and will help you sip your way to your recommended water intake. Plus, you get to eat strawberries along the way!
Adding fruits, veggies and fresh herbs to water is nothing new. There are all sorts of flavor recommendations and beautiful pictures out there, but I’m offering this Strawberry Detox Water for a few reasons:
- Brunch, Drinks & Desserts (the holy trinity!)
Hulling strawberries is a must, but don’t be so quick to toss those strawberry tops. They still hold a lot of flavor. Unlike other water infusion recipes, this Strawberry Detox Water enables you to use the whole fruit. You’re not just sacrificing fruit to become all soggy and flavorless. Bonus points if you compost the tops after drinking the water too.
Second… Brunch, Drinks & Dessert!
Rather than sacrifice the whole fruit to the water, this method lets you eat the berries while still creating a Strawberry Detox water. We recommend using those strawberries to make these Healthyish favorites:
3. French Toast
… or just add fresh slices to our Tangy Lemon or Very Vanilla Bean Cakes.
Fruit + Cake = You can’t go wrong.
Eating strawberries may reduce the risk of chronic diseases like cancer and cardiovascular disease. Strawberries also provide vitamins A and C, which help to protect the skin and eliminate toxins in the body. Just remember to buy organic strawberries, since strawberries routinely make the “Dirty Dozen” list of fruits and vegetables that harbor pesticides.
Want to add even more to the Strawberry Detox Water? Add some fresh mint, which aids in digestion, oral health and detoxification as well.
… that’s it- a simple, healthy, hydrating drink that enables you to eat more cake and French toast. What are you waiting for?
