Skip the lines, skip the excessive sugar, and make your own Pumpkin Spice Lattes to pair with fall flavored Healthyish cakes.
When fall rolls around, we crave pumpkin as much as the next girl, but the traditional pumpkin spice lattes contain almost 40 grams of sugar per 12 oz serving. Starting the morning with that much sugar can lead to a mid-morning crash, and though we believe in indulgences, we prefer to save our sugar for dessert.
Our homemade pumpkin spice lattes are a fall flavored take on bulletproof coffee, the rich, creamy coffee with heart-healthy fats like coconut oil and grass-fed butter. Adding these fats to your morning brew may sound strange, and believe me, I was skeptical, but one taste of the creamy, frothy brew, and I was hooked.
Another reason to make pumpkin spice lattes at home? Real pumpkin! The rich orange color in pumpkin translates to beta carotene, vitamin A and antioxidants. Making these healthy Pumpkin Spice Lattes at home contributes to keeping your eyes young and your bones strong- all before the day begins!
Our mornings get a little ugly without coffee, but our absolute favorite time to drink these homemade Pumpkin Spice Lattes is as an afternoon pick-me-up. What could be better than an afternoon brew paired with one of our Healthyish pumpkin cake varieties? Wear your comfiest (ie: ugliest & warmest) clothes, grab the coziest blanket you have, curl up, sip that warm brew and enjoy a pumpkin-y bite of cake. Go ahead and cue up the Netflix binge session.
