About this recipe
These buffalo tofu tenders are so good, you’ll hardly know they’re vegan. Oven baked to perfection, this buffalo tofu tenders recipe is a vegan version of traditional deep fried chicken wings.
When prepping the tofu, make sure to press out all excess moisture. You can use a clean kitchen towel or paper towels for this process. Alternatively, you can use a tofu press if you have one handy. Next, you will want to cut the tofu into 8 evenly sized rectangles. This shape is perfect for dipping and easy to share.
After you bread the tofu, place it in the oven at 400 degrees. Bake for 40 minutes making sure to turn the tofu every 10 minutes. This will help all sides of the tofu to get extra crispy.
If the buffalo sauce is too spicy for your liking, simply add more vegan butter to help cut the heat. I used Earth Balance butter for this recipe, and it was delicious. Crispy, light and loaded with spicy sauce, these buffalo tofu tenders are really delicious.
Storage
Best if eaten the same day. Once you add the buffalo sauce, the crust will begin to soften. If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for three to four days. Reheat in the microwave until heated through. Just keep in mind, that the crust will soften once the sauce has been added. Looking for more vegan recipes?
