Dip them in your favorite sauces like ketchup, mustard or even mayonnaise just like you would a traditional cheeseburger. However, I recommend trying my special sauce recipe. Ingredients Needed for Baked Chicken Cheeseburger Egg Rolls

Cheese Sauce – For this recipe, you will need salted butter, AP flour, 2% milk, chicken stock, mozzarella cheese and Velveeta cheese.

Ground Chicken Filling – You’ll need olive oil, diced onion, minced garlic, ground chicken and salt and pepper.

Egg Roll Wrappers – You will need 12 egg roll wrappers for this recipe.

Special Sauce – The special sauce consists of mayonnaise, yellow mustard, ketchup and white vinegar.

How to Make Chicken Cheeseburger Egg Rolls

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set it aside.

Cheese Sauce

Heat a sauce pan over medium heat.

Add butter and flour to the hot pan to form a roux. Whisk well.

Slowly add the milk followed by the chicken stock. Whisk to ensure it is well combined.

Next, you’ll add the mozzarella cheese and cubed Velveeta cheese. Continue whisking until well combined. If the sauce gets too tight, reduce the heat and add a touch more chicken stock.

Remove from the heat and set aside.

Chicken Mixture

Next, add one tablespoon olive oil to a hot sauté pan.

Add the diced onion and minced garlic.

Sauté for 4-5 minutes or until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.

Then, add Smart Chicken’s ground chicken.

Season it with salt and black pepper. Sauté until the chicken is cooked through. You’ll want it to be 165 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure doneness.  

Pour the cheese sauce over the cooked chicken mixture. Gently fold everything together.

Build the Egg Rolls

Grab one egg roll wrapper and place it on your clean work surface in a diamond shape. You’ll want one of the corners to be facing you.

Add ¼ cup of the cheesy chicken filling.

Fold the corner closest to you over the top of the filling.

Fold in the sides and roll the egg roll like a burrito.

Place it on the baking tray. Repeat for all egg rolls.

Generously spray the egg rolls with olive oil cooking spray.

Bake for 15-20 minutes flipping them halfway through.

Serve with the special sauce and enjoy!

Storage

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon AP flour
