Air Fryer Breakfast Bagel Boats
These air fryer breakfast bagel boats are a fun and delicious twist on the traditional egg and cheese bagel sandwich. This tasty breakfast comes together in under 10 minutes and is easy to customize. Let me know if you give these boats a try!
Ingredients Needed for Air Fryer Breakfast Bagel Boats
Bagel – You’ll need to hollow out one bagel. I used everything but the seasoning bagel, but you can use whatever you enjoy most.
Eggs – You’ll need two whisked eggs. Small eggs work best.
Cheese – You’ll need two tablespoons of shredded cheese. I used a cheddar cheese blend, but you can use whatever you enjoy most. Cheddar, mozzarella or parmesan would all taste great.
Fresh Herbs – You guys know by now that I love adding a fresh element to all my recipes, and for this one, I added fresh chives. They tasted amazing with the fluffy egg and cheese.
Seasoning – Add a few turns of freshly cracked black pepper to the top of the bagel boat once it comes out of the air fryer.
Optional toppings – Option to add a few slices of avocado and a drizzle of sriracha for some heat.
Tips for Perfect Air Fryer Bagel Boats
- Use fresh bagels. It is easier to remove the center when they are fresh and soft.
- Size does matter. Use thicker bagels for optimal egg holding and transferring to the air fryer.
- DO NOT pull out too much of the center. If you remove too much of the center the egg will soak through the boat and make a mess.
- Air fry for 5-6 minutes at 375 degrees. Cooking time might slightly vary depending on your air fryer. You’ll want the eggs to be fully set and the cheesy to be melty and bubbly.
Air Fryer Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees. Spray the basket with olive oil cooking spray to prevent the bagels from sticking.
Hollow out the bagels and place both halves on a baking tray. Whisk the eggs in a measuring cup and set them aside. Chop the chives into small pieces.
Assemble
Add a sprinkle of fresh chives to the hollowed-out bagel halves. Carefully pour in the whisked egg mixture. Top with shredded cheese and carefully place the bagels in the air fryer basket. Bake for 5-6 minutes or until the eggs have set and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish
Once the bagel boat is cooked, top it with a few turns of cracked black pepper. Option to add a few slices of avocado and a drizzle of sriracha for some heat. Serve hot and enjoy! Best enjoyed immediately.
Storage
Leftover bagel boats can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for three to four days. Reheat in the microwave until warmed through.

Great idea! I can even use plant food cheese
Certain ones melt. Thanks again for a great recipe.
I made these this morning after enjoying the rare opportunity to sleep in. Everyone enjoyed them, even my preschooler whose judgmental attitude rivals any tv food critic! These are going to be a go-to for sure! I topped hubby’s with a slice of ham which crisped up nicely in the air fryer.
