Forming daily habits or routines is a great way to stay on track through the week. Whether its running to Starbucks for a morning latte or waking up early to get in a run. Everyone has habits or things that they just can’t live (or function) without. So I’ve put together a list of my 5 daily must haves to live a Healthyish life.
While I know it sounds simple, I drink tons of water every day. Drinking water at high elevation is essential for my body and mind to function properly. It is easy to get dehydrated throughout the day, but drinking plenty of water helps me ward off drowsiness, headaches, and muscle fatigue.
Each day when I wake up, I walk upstairs and begin to brew a cup of coffee. I only drink one cup a day as a way of managing my caffeine intake. And while I know there are tons of new and exciting coffee brands out there like, Bullet Proof my coffee of choice is Folgers. It’s easy to brew, has a good taste, and has become something I must have first thing every day. Also, studies suggest that coffee drinkers exhibit healthier behaviors that can be linked to reduced risk of death from heart disease, cancer, and stroke. To read more click here.

Having an organized schedule and writing down my thoughts in my Life Planner has become something I do every day. It helps me to run my business and allows me to accomplish numerous tasks without overlooking anything important. Often times, there are things I see or conversations that will inspire me in some way. By writing down my thoughts in that moment, I am able to revisit those ideas at a later time. Keeping a rolling journal of new ideas is something I must do every day.

I am a big believer that everything in moderation is good for you. I have never followed any of the trendy diets like paleo, keto, or gluten free. I try to live a balanced life and realize that there will be days when I eat pizza and then there will be days when I eat salads and both are OK. That being said, I am a huge believer in portion control. I think managing portion sizes is much more advantageous for people trying to manage their weight than eliminating entire food groups. I am not a nutritionist but this is a philosophy that I live by and have incorporated into my daily routine.
Daily exercise is something that has become a part of my routine. Whether it’s a brisk walk with Graci, a hike, or a light lifting session at the gym, I always feel better once I get in a workout. I am able to clear my mind of all stressors, breathe deep, and refocus my energy on positive things.
