It’s back-to-school time, and while you are busy buying dorm room décor, alarm clocks, and stylish bed sheets, we wanted to arm you with a few (microwave friendly) dorm room recipes.
These Healthyish recipes and can be made in under 10 minutes and are perfect for any college student. Check out our recommendations and get your “Healthyish on” this upcoming semester.
Not a morning person, we have you covered. Whip up this easy ham and cream cheese quiche in under 5 minutes. This tasty breakfast is the perfect way to get your morning started while using up any leftovers that you may have in your mini frig.
Cooking Instructions: Beat one egg and 1 ½ tablespoons of milk together with a fork in a coffee cup, adding salt and pepper to taste. Tear bread or bagel into dime-size pieces; stir in. Add 2 teaspoons of cream cheese; stir in. Tear or cut ham into small pieces; add to mixture. Sprinkle with fresh herbs to brighten things up a bit. Microwave on high until done, about 1 minute 10 seconds. Garnish with fresh herbs to taste.
- Nut Butter, Sweet Potato
When your classes are back to back and you need a quick snack, try our 3-ingredient nut butter sweet potato recipe. This snack is loaded with protein and is super easy to make.
Cooking Instructions: Grab a fork and poke a few holes in your sweet potato. Microwave your sweet potato (skin on) for 6- 10 minutes, depending on size. Once cooked, cut the sweet potato down the center. Add your favorite nut butter and a few shakes of cinnamon. The nut butter will melt and create a delicious pool of tastiness. You can thank us later.
After a long day of class and non-stop studying sometimes all you need is a sweet treat and cup of tea to help you unwind. Healthyish baking kits are the perfect solution. Mix and match your favorite organic combos and have a homemade “dorm room” dessert in about 1 minute.
Baking Instructions: Grab one cake mix pouch from your Healthyish baking kit. Add 1 tablespoon of melted unsalted butter and 2 tablespoons of 2% milk. Combine in a mug OR use one of the unbleached baking cups from the baking kit. Place cake batter in the microwave for about 1 minute. Frost your mini cake; add your favorite toppings.
Dorm room dessert in about 2 minutes…. doesn’t get much better than that. *Add some fresh fruit to your batter as a fun way to mix things up a bit.
